Sunday Nov 9th
After gospel meeting, I went up to spend the night with Brenda at a bed and breakfast in Portland. Then we did some shopping. Here is a picture of Brenda at an outdoor food cart where we had lunch. After our day on the town, we went home for ice cream cake and a party with the family. Fun!
Birthday Party
We had a field potluck on Friday night and Shauna had everyone wear red and black to match my new outfit. She had everyone bring chocolate dessert, and had 45 balloons to be given to me at the party. Do you think the number of balloons is significant?? After the party, we managed to stuff all the balloons in the car along with the roses for a self portrait.

TWIN TEDDY BEARS
When we were two, we got new teddy bears. They were both exactly the same, shinny and new with Big Black Pom Pom noses. They were both named Ted and we played with them all the time. They went on lots of adventures and I reminded Linda the other day that one of them was even a pilot. Maybe there are more to kids games than we realize. We'll, I saved the now thread-bare bears and did a photo project of them doing things together. There were 14 pictures total, but these are a few of our favorites.
Brenda and Linda Celebrate 45 Years of Twinhood
It is great to grow up with you best friend! Linda came to Portland Sunday night and we went to a B&B and then spent the day downtown walking, talking, and shoping. We were going to go to the Portland Art Museum but it was closed. Another time. Brenda did a slideshow and below are just a few pics from the slide show.

Happy Halloween
As long as the kids dress up I figure they aren't too old to trick or treat. Alex as a bride at a masquerade ball, her friend Phillip as a scuba diver, her friend Sara as a surfer, and Adrian as Slash, the guitar player for Guns and Roses. It is strange to watch the transformation when he puts the wig and leather jacket on.. now that's SCARY.....
Fall Field Trip with Alex's School
We went to the Japanese gardens. Here is a picture of me (Brenda). Of course I couldn't tell if Alex was glad I came along or not, but I had a great time. Check out the fall colors. Some of the gardens are mostly evergreen because they think the colors are too busy, but we love them and Alex only took pictures of the settings that were vibrant with fall color.

Favorite Fall Shots
Sandra & Dave Ramey, Shauna & I on the Dorena Lake Bike Trail.
Dave and Sandra overlooking Dorena Lake on a sunny fall day. I asked them to look at each other, but they went the second mile....One of many waterfalls on the North Umpqua Trail, and a view up river. Dana Leatherwood and Shauna hiking along the Dread and Terror section of the N. Umpqua Trail.

Linda's trip to Eastern Canada
Just thought I would post a few favorite pictures from my travels this summer from end of May to mid July with Brooke. The lighthouse is in Peggy's Cove, where the sleepy, fishing village pictures were taken. You probably recognize Niagara Falls ...Horseshoe Falls on the Canadian side, and American falls. Then a group of travelling companions: Brooke, Me, Michael Gill (Haiti), Jim Girton (Philippines), Trevor Joll (New Zealand), Wieks Opperman (Netherlands), Henry Arias (Ecuador) and LaDon Loyek (Canada) in front of the Parliment Building in Ottawa, the nation's capital.

Brenda & Linda "What would we do without each other?"
We were at the hospital together when mom was in ICU in May after surgery for ovarian cancer. We couldn't stand to leave Mom alone, so we borrowed PJ's, ordered pizza and settled in for the first of several long nights, not understanding the seriousness of her illness. She passed away a few days later on May 11th.

Two Dogs are Better Than One
Jake didn't like being alone and the kids were begging for a puppy. So we got McKinley..bold and brave - he helped Jake not be so afraid. When old Jake didn't want to play, McKinley never gave up until Jake gave in. They are the best of friends and Jake taught him a lot about being a "big dog", but McKinley still knows who's the boss.
